Telephone Calls, Portal Messages and Refills

TELEPHONE CALLS 

If you would like to know routine test results, please call our office one week after having the test to allow the facility enough time to get these results to us.
Our phones are turned over to the answering service at 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, as well as during the lunch hour 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
If you have non-emergent questions for the doctor or nurse, please leave all messages on the doctor/nurse message line (option 4). Responses to these messages will be handled as soon as possible. For prescription refills, leave your message on the prescription line (option 3). See below for more instructions regarding prescriptions.

PRESCRIPTIONS AND REFILLS 

At least 24 hours notice is required to call in any drug refill. Please note, calls made on Friday may not be filled until Monday.
No additional requests for prescriptions or refills will be taken after 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or on weekends. If you are in severe pain, go to the Emergency Room.
You should check with your pharmacy after 5:00 p.m. to see if your prescription has been called in.
If you use a mail order pharmacy, it is your responsibility to mail the written prescription to the pharmacy. We are not able to call in mail order prescriptions.
Prescriptions are written to last until your next scheduled office visit.
No narcotic medications will be prescribed over the phone after office hours. If narcotic medications are needed after office hours, they will be dispensed through the emergency room.

PORTAL MESSAGES

Take advantage of the Patient Portal.  It is very convenient and the messages get to the doctor/nurses faster than leaving a voice mail.  The messages are delivered directly to the doctor/nurse boxes to be reviewed.  Please remember, even though you are able to send messages through the portal on the weekends, they will not be viewed except during regular busincess hours and as with any emergency, please use 911.
